The booking form.

How to put the booking form on your site, what customers see step by step, and how it keeps out spam.

Customers request a repair on your website, day or night. Each request lands on your dashboard as a new job.

Add it to your website

The easiest way is the Create my booking page button in the setup wizard. To put the form on a page you already have, use one of these:

  1. The block. Edit the page, add a block and search for PartsDue booking form. You see the live form right in the editor.
  2. The shortcode. Paste [partsdue_booking] into the page. You can copy it from Settings then Booking form.

What customers see

The form asks one question per screen. A progress bar shows the six steps, and a Your booking box on the side keeps a running summary.

  1. Area. "Where is the appliance?" The customer types their ZIP code. If you serve it, they see "Good news, we come to" their ZIP. If not, they see your phone number and can't go further.
  2. Appliance. They tap a picture of the appliance and can pick the brand.
  3. Problem. They tap common problems for that appliance, like "Not cooling" or "Won't drain", and can add their own words. They can also add the model number and photos. A Where do I find the model number? tip helps them.
  4. Time. They pick a day and an arrival window.
  5. Details. Full name, phone, email, street address, city and Access notes for gate codes, parking or pets.
  6. Review. They check everything, with an Edit link on each line, and see your service call fee. Then they click Book my repair.

Name, phone, email, street address, ZIP code, the appliance and the problem are required. Brand, city, model number and photos are optional.

After sending, they see Request sent, your thank-you message and their request number. If card payments are on, they can also pay the service call fee right away. This is optional. A See your request link opens their own customer page.

Service area, windows and days

Change these in Settings then Booking form:

  • ZIP codes you serve (empty = all). The first five digits of the customer's ZIP are checked against this list.
  • Time windows. One per line.
  • Days customers can pick. From 1 to 30. Days start tomorrow, never today. The form lays days out in full rows of six, so with 14 days you may see 12.
  • Closed days. Sunday, Saturday and Sunday, or Open every day.
  • Note under the form and Thank-you message.

The day and window the customer picks are a request, not a booked visit. You confirm it by booking the visit on the job. See Jobs and visits.

Photos

Tick Let customers add photos of the sticker and error code to show the photo button. Customers can add up to 4 photos. Each must be a JPG, PNG or WEBP under 8 MB. Photos are saved privately, without the phone's location data.

What happens when a request comes in

  1. A new job is created as a New request from the Website. Returning customers are matched by email or phone, so their history stays together.
  2. You get a New repair request email, and the customer gets a Request received email. See Emails.

Spam protection

PartsDue blocks most junk without a CAPTCHA:

  • A hidden field that only robots fill in.
  • Forms sent in under 3 seconds are refused.
  • Each form can be sent once, within 3 hours of opening it.
  • No more than 10 requests per hour from one connection, and 40 per hour for the whole site.
  • No more than 3 requests per day from one email address.

Page caching

The booking page and customer page tell caching plugins not to cache them. The form also fetches a fresh one-time code when it opens, so a cached copy still works. If your caching plugin or host ignores this and you see errors like "Please wait a moment and send the form again", exclude the booking page and the Your repair page from the cache.
