The customer page.

What customers see on their private repair page, how they get there, and how to share the link.

Every customer gets their own private page. It shows where their repair stands, their parts, their estimates and their invoices. Most "where is my part?" calls stop once customers have it.

Where it lives

When you activate PartsDue, it creates a page called Your repair with the [partsdue_portal] shortcode on it. Leave it published. Every link PartsDue sends points to this page.

The page is safe to leave on your site:

  • Each customer opens it through their own private link. Without a valid link it only says Link not found and asks them to call you.
  • Search engines are told not to list it.
  • It is never served from a page cache, so customers always see the latest status.

If you move the page to the trash by mistake, restore it from Pages then Trash.

How customers get there

Customers reach their page from:

  • The See your request link right after they book.
  • The button in every email, like See your repair, View and approve or View and pay.
  • A link you send yourself. On the job, click Copy link next to Customer page in the Payments card. On an estimate or invoice, click Copy link to share that document.

The repair status page

At the top is your logo or business name, and your phone number, which customers can tap to call.

Then they see:

  1. Their request number and appliance.
  2. A progress line: New request, Scheduled, Diagnosed, Waiting for parts, Repaired, Paid.
  3. What happens next, a plain sentence for the current stage. For example, "As soon as your parts arrive we will call to book the repair visit."
  4. Next visit with the day and arrival window. Before a visit is booked, You asked for shows the day they picked.
  5. Your parts, each with a plain status like "Being ordered", "Ordered from" the supplier with the expected date, "Delayed by the supplier", or "Here and ready to fit". A replacement says the first one was not right.
  6. Estimates and invoices they have been sent. Drafts stay hidden.
  7. A button to pay the service call fee, while the job is a new request and card payments are on.

A cancelled job just says "This request was cancelled."

The estimate page

The customer sees each line, the subtotal, tax, service call credit and total. With more than one option, they pick the one that suits them. The repair-or-replace advice appears here too, if you have it turned on.

They type their name and approve, or click Decline. With a parts deposit and card payments on, approving takes them straight to the deposit payment. Afterwards the page shows "Approved by" their name. See Estimates and approval.

The invoice page

The invoice shows Due, Overdue or Paid, the balance, the due date, every line and what was paid so far. Your invoice terms show as a note.

With Stripe on, a pay button takes them to Stripe's secure page. Without it, they see "To pay, call us at" your number. See Stripe card payments.

Print or save as PDF

Every estimate and invoice has Print or save as PDF at the bottom. Customers can keep a copy for their records or their home warranty. The Your repair status link takes them back to the status page.

Keep the link private

Anyone with a customer's link can see that customer's page. Send links only to the customer and treat them like a password. A link can't be changed once it is made.
